Bonnie Morris started working with horses at the age of 9. Training was all she thought about.
She got her first colt when she was 10. Ground drove him from the start, taught him many tricks, such as shaking hands,
sitting, bowing, and a number of other antics.
As she got older she pursued her dreams and by the age of 22 purchased land in Auburn, Washington and began the long
process of building her own training center. Bonnie Morris brings a lifetime of horsemanship, discipline, and artistry
to her work in the equestrian world. With a strong foundation in classical dressage, she has spent years studying both
French and German dressage systems, thoughtfully blending their principles into a balanced and effective approach to training.
Her experience spans a wide range of disciplines, including English, Western, and Driving, allowing her to develop a versatile
and adaptable training style. Bonnie has also competed internationally in combined driving, where precision, partnership, and
trust between horse and driver are essential. These experiences have shaped her philosophy—prioritizing clear communication,
consistency, and the development of confident, willing horses.
In 2004, Bonnie’s path took a defining turn when she met her first Fjord horse. Drawn to their temperament, strength, and versatility,
she became deeply involved in training and showing the breed. What began as a passion soon grew into a focused program, leading her
to invest in quality breeding stock. Today, Bonnie operates one of the largest Fjord breeding programs on the West Coast.
With two breeding stallions, she is dedicated to producing traditional, well-balanced Fjord horses that excel across disciplines.
Bonnie actively works with the NFHR Evaluation Program, ensuring her horses meet high standards for conformation, movement, and
temperament. Her goal is to develop versatile horses that honor the breed’s heritage while thriving in modern equestrian sport.
Known for her patient, detail-oriented approach, Bonnie is passionate about preserving the traditions of classical horsemanship
while making them accessible and practical for today’s riders. At the heart of her work is a commitment to partnership—helping
horses and riders build trust, balance, and lasting success together.
